About YasuJutaro

Created by designer Pamela Gille, YasuJutaro Artisan Jewelry represents the blending of spirit and body.  Careful attention to balance, color, and texture give each piece its own unique elegance.

All items are handcrafted and original in design.  Precious metal clay, a product of recycled silver, is molded and carved to make unique fine silver charms and pendants.  100% natural eco-friendly brass and sterling silver are used to create sophisticated pieces intermingling with hand blown Italian and German glass, freshwater pearls, semi-precious gemstones, Venetian glass, and Roman glass shards.

YasuJutaro is constantly working towards sustainability.  As an advocate for responsible use of the earth’s natural resources, Pamela uses recycled or recyclable materials whenever possible.

 the artist

Pamela is a California native and owner and designer of YasuJutaro Artisan Jewelry.

A designer for more than 20 years, she now focuses on the art of jewelry. Her creativity is driven by her love of balance, color, and texture and how they effect one’s inner self.

Pamela’s concentration on balance and color combined with her fine eye for detail sets her designs apart from others.  Pamela hand selects the finest quality materials, searching for one-of-a-kind, beautiful, and interesting elements.  Her passion lies in creating that perfect necklace, bracelet, or earrings from the sometimes unexpected combination of gemstones and findings.

She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from California State University, Fullerton and also attended Pasadena Art Center.  She worked as an Art Director and Graphic Designer for almost two decades.

Pamela’s grandparents, Yasu and Jutaro, are the inspiration behind her passion.

the philosophy

YasuJutaro’s approach to design is heavily influenced by the Japanese aesthetic called wabi sabi.

Wabi sabi is the central philosophy of traditional Japanese beauty.  It is an aesthetic ideal, a quiet state of mind, attainable by learning to see the invisible, paring away what is unnecessary and knowing where to stop.

Wabi sabi is a unique aesthetic awareness that is hard to put to words. Pamela strives to bring wabi sabi into your world in the pieces she creates.
